Baden-Baden / Germany – On Friday, December 7, two healthcare practitioners from Colombia, a veterinarian and a physician, were awarded the Hans-Heinrich Reckeweg Clinical Case Award 2018. Juan Carlos Builes Rodríguez from Medellín received the main award for his case report on the revascularization and repair of a damaged mucosa in a dog. Andrea Valero Carvajal from Bogotá received the runner-up award for the case report of successful acne management in an adolescent patient with a bioregulatory systems medicine approach.

As in previous years, the international award review committee for the Hans-Heinrich Reckeweg Clinical Case Award assessed numerous applications reporting successful bioregulatory therapies in various conditions that physicians and veterinarians encounter in their everyday practice. Dr. Konstantin Cesnulevicius, Scientific Award Coordinator at Heel, explains: “The winning cases are selected not only because of their reporting excellence based on the EQUATOR CARE guidelines but also on their medical education merit. This year the winning case reports by Dr. Juan Carlos Builes Rodríguez and Dr. Andrea Valero Carvajal demonstrate impressive results and report about expanded treatment opportunities by applying treatments with bioregulatory properties.”
